Introduction
At You Empower Society (hereinafter referred to as “the Organization”), we deeply appreciate the generous support extended by our donors, patrons, and well-wishers. Every donation received is utilized responsibly to further our mission in areas such as education, health, skill development, women’s empowerment, and community welfare. This Refund Policy is designed to outline the limited circumstances under which a contribution may be eligible for a refund and the process to request one.
General Policy on Donations
All contributions made to You Empower Society are treated as voluntary, non-refundable, and irrevocable charitable donations. As a not-for-profit entity, donations are not rendered in exchange for any product, commercial service, or personal benefit. They are made in good faith to support our organizational objectives.
Accordingly, donations once made will not ordinarily be refunded. However, we recognize that errors can occasionally occur and, in rare and justifiable cases, refund requests may be considered.
Exceptional Cases Eligible for Refund Consideration
Refund requests may be considered in the following circumstances, strictly at the discretion of the Organization:
Duplicate Payment: If the donor has inadvertently completed the same donation more than once.
Incorrect Amount: If an incorrect or excess amount was donated due to a typographical or transactional error.
Unauthorized Transaction: If the payment was made fraudulently or without the consent of the rightful account holder.
Cancelled Campaign/Event: If a donation was made toward a specific program or event that has been cancelled or materially altered by the Organization.
Each request will be subject to verification and approval by our finance and compliance team.
Procedure to Request a Refund
To request a refund, the donor must submit a written request to the Organization within seven (7) calendar days of the original transaction date. The request must include the following details:
Full name of the donor
Date and amount of the donation
Mode of payment and transaction ID/reference number
Reason for requesting the refund.
Supporting documents, such as transaction receipt or bank/payment confirmation

Refund Process
Upon receiving a valid refund request, our internal team will verify the details, assess the eligibility, and respond within a reasonable timeframe. If the request is approved, the refund will be processed within 15 working days through the same mode of payment originally used, unless otherwise requested and agreed upon in writing.
Please note that any processing charges or bank/payment gateway fees incurred during the original transaction may be deducted from the refundable amount, as such fees are generally non-recoverable by the Organization.
Ineligible Transactions
The following types of contributions are not eligible for refunds under any circumstance:
In-kind donations, such as food, clothing, supplies, or equipment
Volunteer time or services rendered to the Organization
Tax-exempt donations where a certificate under Section 80G or similar benefit has already been issued
Donations older than seven (7) calendar days from the date of the original transaction
Policy Updates
You Empower Society reserves the right to modify, revise, or update this Refund Policy at any time, without prior notice. Any changes will be reflected immediately upon publication on our official website. Donors are encouraged to review the most current version before making a donation.
